BOTOX® Cosmetic
Best used for: “Crow’s feet” and deep wrinkles across the forehead and between the brows
BOTOX® Cosmetic contains Onabotulinumtoxin A, which is a toxin that is completely harmless when used in small doses. It works by preventing certain facial muscles from contracting, which causes the overlying wrinkles to soften and sometimes disappear. Results with BOTOX® last about three to five months.
JUVEDÉRM®
Best used for: Filling nasolabial folds, marionette lines, hollows in the cheeks, and beneath the eyes; lip augmentation
JUVEDÉRM® is made of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance found naturally in the body. Because of its thicker consistency, it is said to provide a smoother appearance than other injectable fillers. Results with JUVEDERM® last six to nine months.
RADIESSE®
Best used for: Nasolabial folds; wrinkles on the corners of the mouth, cheeks, jawline, and hands
RADIESSE® is made of calcium hydroxylapatite, which is found naturally in the body, so it does not cause inflammation or allergic reactions. Each treatment takes about 20 minutes. Results are seen immediately and can last six months or longer, depending on the area treated.
Restylane®
Best used for: Moderate to severe facial wrinkles; lip augmentation
Restylane® is a natural cosmetic dermal filler that poses no risk for allergic reactions. It is made of hyaluronic acid and can last six months or longer.
Chemical Peels
Best used for: Face, neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs
Dr. Messa can administer a light, medium, or deep chemical peel to improve damaged skin. Deeper chemical peels provide more dramatic results but also require more downtime than lighter peels. Based on the extent of skin damage and the patient’s desired results, Dr. Messa will determine the best treatment approach. Chemical peels can improve acne, acne scars, age and liver spots, fine lines and wrinkles, freckles, irregular skin pigmentation, rough skin, and sun-damaged skin.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Best used for: Sun-damaged skin, mild acne scarring, facial wrinkles, hair removal, tattoo removal, spider and/or varicose vein removal
Heat from the laser destroys damaged skin and encourages new cell growth, resulting in tighter, smoother, healthier skin. No anesthesia is necessary for laser skin resurfacing, and results are long-lasting.
Microdermabrasion
Best used for: Face, neck, and chest to reduce wrinkles, acne scars and facial scars; repairs sun-damaged skin; corrects age spots, superficial pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles
Microdermabrasion sloughs away layers of dead, unhealthy skin by using a minimally abrasive instrument. The procedure is done in 30 minutes and requires no anesthesia or recovery time. Several treatment sessions are often needed to attain the best results.
