The gel consistency is said to provide a more natural appearance than collagen-based dermal fillers and other fillers that have come before it.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC was FDA approved in 2013 specifically for adding volume to the cheek area in patients over the age of 21. Those who have sinking and sagging cheeks can experience youthful fullness for up to two years with this hyaluronic acid filler. This filler contains lidocaine to eliminate any discomfort as it is injected into the deeper tissues above the cheekbones. Although JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC costs a bit more than its competitors, considering its longevity, the price is well worth the investment.
Restylane®
Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid filler that treats moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is especially effective at diminishing wrinkles around the mouth, with results lasting six months or longer. Restylane® can also be used for lip enhancement on patients over 21 years of age. It is also the treatment of choice for patients with superficial wrinkles and thin skin.
