3 Minute Read:

Don’t you wish you could snap your finger and magically be rid of your excess fat pockets?

Unfortunately, while there is no magic spell that allows for that, there are non-surgical body contouring treatments that make that desire almost that easy.

CoolSculpting® is the revolutionary fat reduction treatment that allows you to lessen unwanted fat across the body by literally freezing it away. And lucky for you, this non-surgical treatment requires you to do nothing more than lie back and relax! What’s cooler than that?

Why Treat Unwanted Fat With CoolSculpting®?

There are some fat pockets that don’t go away no matter how hard you sweat or how healthy you eat.

When it comes to battling the bulges, plastic surgery procedures such as liposuction may come to mind. Although effective in eliminating stubborn fat, liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that involves incisions (albeit small) and anesthesia.

Some people may not like the idea of downtime and needing to take time away from their usual activities, and surgery, in general, can be daunting.

Thankfully, as more plastic surgery technologies come to light, patients who are apprehensive about surgery can eliminate fat without stepping foot near an operating table.

CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive fat removal method that involves controlled cooling technology. As a “cool” way to get rid of excess fat, CoolSculpting® is a safe and effective non-surgical treatment for creating a slimmer, more defined physique.

Is Freezing Fat Safe?

Fat cells have an interesting reaction to cold temperatures. Unlike other types of cells, fat is easily susceptible to damage when introduced to the cold.

Because of that, CoolSculpting® only affects the targeted fat cells, leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed and intact.

This is a comfortable procedure where patients can sit or lie down and read or work on a laptop. The treatment does not require any anesthesia or sedation; if needed, patients may use oral sedation. However, patients who want any type of sedation should have a designated person to drive them to and from treatment.

How Does CoolSculpting® Work?

CoolSculpting® works by exposing the targeted area to a precise low temperature, which freezes and kills the fat cells. The dead fat cells will then slowly and naturally be eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system.

Results will gradually appear over the next two to four months, but some patients notice a reduction in the thickness of their fat in the treated area within three weeks. If desired, patients may undergo subsequent CoolSculpting® treatments spaced one month apart.

Is CoolSculpting® Right for Me?

CoolSculpting® is not for everyone, but it can effectively eliminate stubborn fat for certain patients. Patients who have a large amount of fat that needs to be removed may be better suited for liposuction.

CoolSculpting® should not be used as a weight-reduction program and is not intended for patients who are overweight; ideal candidates are at a healthy body weight but just have a few pockets of fat they would like to target. Dr. Messa can evaluate your goals and anatomy to help determine the best treatment for you.

Get Lasting Results Before the Cold Weather Sets in This Year!

The targeted fat cells are absorbed and permanently eliminated from the body. However, weight gain can cause the remaining fat cells to increase in size, affecting the original results.

Many patients are extremely happy with how their body looks after CoolSculpting®, which motivates them to stay close to or at their ideal weight. Healthy individuals who eat well and exercise regularly to maintain their results benefit the most from CoolSculpting®.
