The majority of people probably wish they could take unwanted fat from certain areas of their body and use it to add volume to other areas. These people would probably be surprised to learn that this is actually possible through fat transfer, and this procedure can also improve signs of aging by plumping areas that have lost volume over time. Advancements in technology and surgical techniques have allowed fat transfer to efficiently accomplish the goals of slimming down particular regions while plumping others to achieve the desired curves and youthful appearance.

The fat transfer procedure involves three steps:

Step 1:  Excess fat is removed from the body using gentle liposuction.

Fat can be removed from a variety of areas, including the:

Step 2:  The fat cells are purified and prepared for injection.

Step 3:  The fat is injected into the targeted areas.

Potential targeted areas that can be enhanced with fat transfer include:

  • Fine lines

  • Wrinkles

  • Deep skin folds

  • Scars

Fat transfer can naturally provide a more youthful appearance where there were once wrinkles and signs of aging, and it can add volume to areas that the patient desires to augment, such as the breasts and buttocks. This procedure is safe and achieves long-lasting results.
